- A deep ache or stiffness across the belt line that is worst first thing in the morning
- Pain that builds the longer you sit, then eases when you stand and walk it off
- A catch or spasm when you bend to tie your shoes or lift a laundry basket
- Soreness that spreads into the hips or the top of the buttocks but stays above the knee
- Good days and bad days, with no clear pattern you can point to
What is usually behind it
Most lower back pain in working adults is not one dramatic injury. It builds from the way a body is loaded day after day: hours in a car or an office chair, a core that has gone quiet, hips and hamstrings that have tightened, and then one ordinary movement that finally sets it off. The spot that hurts is often not the whole story. Tight hips, a stiff mid back, or a weak side can all push extra load onto the low back until it complains.
That is why looking only at the sore spot rarely fixes it for long. We look at how the whole chain moves so the low back is not left doing everyone else's job.
How we help
Your first visit starts with a real conversation about when the pain started, what makes it better or worse, and what your days actually look like. Then we watch how you move: how you bend, rotate, sit, and stand. From there we do hands-on work on the tight, overworked areas and give you a short, doable plan you can keep up between visits. The goal is simple. Get you moving with less pain and give you a handful of things that hold the relief instead of a stack of exercises you will never do.
This is hands-on wellness care, not a quick crack and go. You are in control of the pace the whole time, and if we do not think we are the right fit for your situation, we will tell you and point you somewhere better.
What it costs in Cypress
Sessions are self-pay and quoted up front, so there are no surprise bills after the fact. What a plan looks like depends on how long the pain has been going on and how your body responds, which is exactly what the first assessment sorts out. Many clients put HSA or FSA funds toward their visits. Ask when you call and we will walk you through it before you book.
Common questions
Should I rest or keep moving with lower back pain?
For most everyday low back pain, staying lightly active helps more than days of bed rest. Short walks and easy movement keep the area from stiffening. If one specific movement makes the pain much worse or sends it down your leg, stop and get it looked at.
Should I see someone if it has lasted more than a couple of weeks?
Yes. Back pain that has not eased after two to three weeks, or that keeps returning, is worth a hands-on assessment. The sooner someone looks at how you move, the fewer habits you build around guarding the pain.
Should I be worried about my lower back pain?
Most low back pain is not dangerous. But seek emergency care right away if you have numbness in the groin, loss of bladder or bowel control, severe pain after a fall or crash, or fever with back pain.
Not sure your pain is really the low back? A lot of it turns out to be sciatica traveling from the spine, and it helps to know what to expect on your first visit.
