What to expect on your first visit
No white coats, no cold runaround, no wall of paperwork before anyone talks to you. Here is exactly how a first back pain visit goes, so you know what you are walking into before you call.
Call (832) 485-6493 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. No referral needed. How the visit goes, step by step
1. We talk first
Your visit starts with a real conversation, not a form. We want to hear where it hurts, when it started, what makes it better or worse, and what your days actually demand of your body. This part matters more than people expect, because the story of your pain usually points straight at its cause.
2. We watch you move
Next we look at how you move: how you bend, rotate, sit, stand, and shift your weight. Back pain is rarely only where it hurts, so we check the whole chain, the hips, the mid back, the way you load one side over the other, to find where the trouble really starts.
3. Hands-on work
Then we get to work by hand on the tight, overworked areas that are driving your symptoms. You stay in control of the pressure and the pace the entire time. It can feel intense on a cranky spot, but it should always feel purposeful, never like something being done to you.
4. You leave with a plan
You go home with a short, doable plan built around your real routine, not a printout of thirty exercises you will never touch. A handful of the right moves and positions beats a long list every time.
What to bring and wear
- Comfortable clothes you can move in, the kind you would wear for a light workout
- Any recent imaging or notes from a doctor, if you happen to have them
- A short mental list of the movements or moments that hurt most
- Your questions. There is no such thing as a dumb one here
Eat normally beforehand and arrive a few minutes early so you are not rushed. That is all the prep there is.
How long it takes and what it costs
Plan for your first visit to run a little longer than a follow-up, since the talk and the movement check take time to do right. Sessions are self-pay and priced up front, so you know the number before you commit and never get a surprise bill later. Many clients put HSA or FSA funds toward their visits. If you have questions about cost, ask when you call and we will lay it out plainly.
Common questions
Should I bring my imaging or medical records?
If you have recent X-rays, an MRI report, or notes from a doctor, bring them or the summary. Helpful, but not required. If you have nothing, that is fine too. We start from how you move and how you feel today.
Should I eat before I come in?
Yes, eat normally. There is no fasting or special prep. Come as you would for any appointment. Being well hydrated and not starving makes the movement part easier.
Should I book if I am not sure my pain is bad enough?
Yes. You do not have to be in a crisis to call. Nagging, low-grade back pain you have learned to live around is exactly the kind that is easier to help early. If we are not the right fit, we will say so.
